9-store beta: source-backed price checks across Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Publix, Kroger, Dollar General, Costco, and Winn-Dixie.
How it works
Source-backed price checks, without mystery results.
Price Scout is designed to show where a price came from, how confident the match is, and when it was checked.
The basic flow
- Type a specific product name and ZIP code. Brand, size, count, and flavor help Scout find better matches.
- Scout checks retailer pages and official APIs for Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Publix, Kroger, Dollar General, Costco, and Winn-Dixie.
- Results are validated so priced results include a source link from the retailer's own domain.
- You compare prices, open the retailer page, and confirm final price and availability before buying.
Confidence labels
A high-confidence result should be an exact or very close product match from the retailer. Medium and low confidence can mean the product name, size, count, or fulfillment details are not a perfect match.
If Price Scout cannot find a reliable source-backed price, that store is marked as unavailable instead of showing an unsourced number.
Why prices can differ
- Prices can vary by store location, pickup, delivery, shipping, and membership status.
- Coupons, promotions, taxes, fees, and substitutions may change the final checkout total.
- Retailer pages can update after Price Scout checks them.
- Online prices may not match in-store shelf prices.
